Xinhua news agency, the China’s State-run media, published images showing armored carriers and trucks carrying troops close to – and a small naval vessel arriving in – Hong Kong.
China’s People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA)’s statement says:
“The Hong Kong Garrison will resolutely follow the instructions of the Central Government and the Central Military Commission, resolutely implement the ‘one country, two systems’ principle.”
People’s Daily shared a video saying the “normal routine annual rotation” is “in line with law”.
