The Philippines and the United States have successfully wrapped up the Tempest Wind 2024 (TW24) interagency counterterrorism exercise, held in the Philippines.
Designed as a crisis action mission rehearsal, TW24 focused on contingency operations and assessed both nations’ ability to plan, coordinate, and execute counterterrorism strategies under current policies and authorities.
The exercise saw the participation of over 350 personnel engaged in complex scenarios aimed at enhancing joint capabilities, strengthening alliances, and deepening bilateral relations. A key component was a command post exercise, which tested the ability of Philippine and US forces to collaborate effectively in a simulated environment.
US Army Col. Sean Berg noted that TW24 significantly improved mutual training and response capabilities against terrorist threats, contributing to regional peace and security.
Tempest Wind 2024 is part of the US Indo-Pacific Command’s military engagement program, designed to help allies and partners enhance their skills in various operational environments.
