On September 5, 2024 during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit in Beijing, Chinese president Xi Jinping, , announced that China will provide Africa nearly $51 billion over the next three years in funding, support infrastructure projects and create at least 1 million jobs.
